The extension to this 19th century palace features 22 exclusive rooms

The façade is covered by a spectacular alabaster curtain wall

Barcelona, July 2007 -  Barcelona-based company EQUIP Xavier Claramunt designed the recent extension to the Hotel Hospes Palacio de los Patos in Granada. Built over 18 months, the new building means the hotel now features 22 new, exclusive rooms in addition to the 20 already in existence.
The recently completed, 7,100 square-metre annex is located next to the 19th-century palace and stands out due to the impressive alabaster wall covering its façade.  EQUIP Xavier Claramunt created a visual strategy for this project with the design offering a play on perspective. Continue reading →

EQUIP XAVIER CLARAMUNT FIRMA EL NUEVO HOTEL HOSPES “PALACIO LOS PATOS” DE GRANADA

La ampliación de este palacio del siglo XIX acoje 22 exclusivas habitaciones.
Un espectacular muro cortina de alabastro recorre la fachada.

La compañía barcelonesa EQUIP Xavier Claramunt ha diseñado la recién ampliación del Hotel Hospes Palacio de los Patos, en Granada. Gracias a este proyecto, cuyas obras han durado 18 meses, el hotel contará con 22 nuevas habitaciones exclusivas, que se suman a las 20 ya existentes.
El nuevo edificio, con una superficie de 7100 metros cuadrados, está situado al lado del palacio del siglo XIX y destaca por el espectacular muro de alabastro que recorre la fachada. Promoted by the Catalan company NBOWM, this project initiative aims to provide a meeting point for expertise.

Barcelona, April 2007 – Use expertise to think about what society will be like in the future and how to live in a better world is the Brain of the World motto. This project was conceived by the NBOWM Studio, based in Igualada, near Barcelona, and is currently seeking a location in Catalonia to set up operations.

XAVIER CLARAMUNT WINS CONTRACTWORLD 2007
 
Barcelona-based company has been awarded first prize for its Hotel Chic&Basic Born Project in Barcelona

The jury for the 2007 Contractworld awards has acknowledged the work the Barcelona-based company EQUIP Xavier Claramunt carried out on their Hotel ChicandBasic Born Project.  The award was presented in Hannover last weekend in recognition of the project being “an outstanding example of how to deal with historic buildings in a way that is both bold and sensitive.  The design vocabulary is both ultramodern and light of touch.” The hotel is situated in Barcelona’s Calle de la Princesa and features 31 rooms. 
EQUIP was the only Spanish company to receive an award in this year’s edition, where it competed with 480 teams of architects and designers from over 30 countries throughout the world.  Hitting their seventh edition this year, the Contractworld Awards are amongst the most prestigious prizes in the architecture and interior design sector and serve to recognise the best projects in the industry every year. XAVIER CLARAMUNT GANA EL CONTRACTWORLD 2007

La compañía barcelonesa ha sido distinguida con el primer premio por su proyecto del Hotel ChicandBasic Born de Barcelona.

El jurado de los premios Contractworld 2007 ha reconocido en su última edición el trabajo realizado por la compañía barcelonesa EQUIP Xavier Claramunt en el proyecto del Hotel ChicandBasic Born. El galardón, otorgado este fin de semana en la ciudad de Hannover (Alemania), reconoce este proyecto hotelero “como un excelente ejemplo de cómo tratar con edificios históricos de una manera descarada y sensible al mismo tiempo. El concepto del diseño es ultramoderno y la luz consigue tener un papel protagonista”. El hotel está situado en la calle de la Princesa de Barcelona y tiene 31 habitaciones.
Esta compañía ha sido la única española en recibir el galardón en la presente edición, donde competía con 480 equipos de arquitectos y diseñadores de mas de 30 paises de todo el mundo. Los premios Contractworld, que este año llegan a su septima edición, son uno de los más prestigiosos en el sector de la arquitectura y el diseño de interiores que anualmente reconoce los mejores proyectos.
